Experiences in neuropsychological rehabilitation of long-stay psychiatric patients: towards an intervention model

The article allows knowing the importance of implementing neuropsychological rehabilitation in a psychiatric hospital, performing an evaluation and intervention of the basic and superior cognitive processes, identifying the deficits and potentialities of the patients’ cognitive processes.220 patients were the sample used. The statements collected were analyzed and interpreted through the systematization matrix of the information and the evaluation report, carrying out a program of neuropsychological rehabilitation, with the goal of making the experience of hospitalization enriching, reactivating its functional role from the reinforcement of their cognitive capacities, social skills and psychotherapeutic process.The population responded by improving cognitive performance in the development of the reagents, taking into account the need to include neuropsychological rehabilitation as a care model that allows continuity and contribution to the process.
