A critical reflection of positivism and its influence on current Colombian education
Keywords:
teacher, education, teacher role, positivismAbstract
This article aims to make an approach to Comte’s positive thinking, in order to identify his influence on some curriculum guidelines of Colombian education and its impact on school practice, viewed from the critical theory. The methodology established is consistent with the general spirit of positive politics, to avoid throwing ideas, as result of imagination or personified abstractions. Comte (1854, pp. 114-115) mentions that this is to use a methodology to access the real concrete proposed to study it in context. Therefore, it is not intended to make a total abstraction, but guide the reader to the observation and verification of the facts of the current situation of education in Colombia, with the sources selected for that, and, at the same time, take a critical position to provide its redefinition, since otherwise the analysis of theoretical facts loses force if it is not subjected to a critical process.
