y artículos para publicaciones
profesionales, corregir cartas o

Lo anterior se logra por medio de la
selección del vocabulario adecuado y el
contenido apropiado de cada situación,
haciendo uso correcto de la estructuración
gramatical para cada una. Como método,
es importante, por ejemplo, proporcionar
lecturas adecuadas que sirvan de apoyo
para poder lograr las competencias
mencionadas. Abreus, Marero y Vásquez
(citados por Castro, Espinoza, Jofré, Lagos,
Muñoz y Sanhueza, 2016), reconocen que
la lectura técnica debe integrar las cuatro
habilidades comunicativas, proponiendo
el desarrollo de la comprensión lectora y
auditiva. Estas dos habilidades receptivas
comprenden las siguientes actividades:
• Lluvia de ideas (brainstorming):
ejercicios de selección múltiple para
presentar vocabulario especíco.
• Complementación de espacios a
partir de la información del texto
(ll in the gaps).
• Reconocimiento de oraciones que
sean equivalentes en la lengua de
origen y la lengua extranjera.
En términos gramaticales, la lectura
técnica en este caso, centra su atención en
el pasado simple, acorde a la terminología
del idioma inglés, que fomenta además el
desarrollo de las habilidades productivas
(speaking y writing), por medio de
micro-situaciones comunicacionales;
por ejemplo, en el caso de la lectura
técnica sobre agricultura, “los estudiantes
deberían poder comunicar ideas esenciales
sobre su invención; es decir, discutir ideas
a partir del tema principal, comunicar
ideas sobre la utilidad del uso de plantas
silvestres; es decir, referirse a aspectos
secundarios del texto” (p. 31).
De acuerdo con esto, la formación en
inglés de negocios permite desarrollar
competencias como: expresión
oral, interacción, comprensión oral,
comprensión escrita, expresión escrita;
además, métodos como la lectura
técnica enfocada a las cuatro habilidades
comunicativas, permiten mejorar las
competencias en este idioma.
Las anteriores competencias son
promovidas por editoriales como
Cambridge, Oxford, que promueven
ampliamente el manejo del inglés de
negocios, enfocando áreas contables,
comerciales, administrativas desarrollando
competencias en vocabulario, expresiones
empresariales, redacción de cartas
comerciales, etc. Estos libros didácticos
son: English for accounting, English
for Marketing & Advertising, English for
human resources, English for Negotiating,
English for presentations, etc. Por otro
lado, la prestigiosa editorial Express
Publishing que fomenta la especialidad
del inglés con propósitos especícos,
publicó el material Accounting, dirigido
a estudiantes de la contabilidad, libro
constituido por tres niveles de inglés
profesional, en cada uno de los cuales
incluye las cuatro habilidades que son:
la lectura, el escucha, el habla y la
escritura, enfocadas en temas contables,
nancieros, y de impuestos, permitiendo
que el estudiante de Contaduría desarrolle
competencias especícas de la lengua
inglesa profesional.
La competencia es el conjunto de
conocimientos (saber); destrezas y
habilidades (saber hacer), con las que
el individuo aprende y adquiere, en
un contexto natural, institucional y
profesional (De Oca y Chaman, 2016).
Actualmente, el inglés de negocios, como
rama de aprendizaje dentro del inglés para
nes especícos, es reconocido a nivel
internacional; por ello arma Alcaraz Varo
