2025-04-21

Thanks to a rigorous process of application to different indexing and abstracting systems, the scientific journals published by the Editorial of the Universidad Mariana continue to consolidate their academic recognition. On this occasion, the journal Criterios has been accepted in Redalyc, one of the most prestigious networks of open access scientific journals. This achievement represents a significant milestone in the journal's trajectory, and opens new possibilities to increase its visibility and accessibility at a global level.
From now on, the journal will be part of the “model that promotes science as a common and public good, where scientific communication and publication does not seek profit and is in the hands and control of academia, since it is a better solution to achieve a sustainable, inclusive and participatory academic and scientific ecosystem” (Redalyc, 2025, para. 5).

This recognition is accompanied by a quality certification, granted after meeting the strict criteria established by Redalyc, which guarantees the editorial excellence of the publication. In addition, it will have its own RSS feed, which will facilitate the distribution of content and promote its reach among the academic community.
Inclusion in Redalyc will also favor greater visibility thanks to interoperability with search engines, library platforms, aggregators, repositories and specialized directories, which will make the journal's content more accessible internationally through the quality of its metadata.
Another relevant aspect will be the availability of bibliometric indicators that will reflect the level of production, collaboration and use of published articles. These data will offer a quantitative perspective on the impact of the journal in its discipline, as well as at the institutional and national level.
Finally, we highlight the free access to the XML JATS markup tool through Marcalyc, which guarantees the digital preservation of the contents and improves their visibility on the web. Thanks to this, all scientific articles generated by this journal will be available in enriched formats such as PDF, EPUB and HTML, facilitating a more dynamic and accessible reading experience.

In this way, the inclusion in Redalyc consolidates the growth of Revista Criterios and reaffirms its role as a key space for the dissemination of scientific knowledge, at the service of a community that is growing stronger.
