Sembrando saberes en tierras de vocación: reflexiones desde la práctica clínica con estudiantes

What do we really feel when we first meet patients? This was always the question many years ago when I found myself in that position as a student, and my thoughts were assaulted with questions like: What will it be like to care for a patient? What new things will I learn? Will I be ready to take on this new challenge? And, in short, many other unknowns that, although I have resolved today, with this new experience as a teacher, I realize that you never stop learning and that there are new generations who drive you to continue researching, learning, and loving the vocation of being a teacher. During this process of accompanying clinical practice, I have had the opportunity to reconnect with those foundations that gave rise to what is now my vocation. Being present in two healthcare institutions, not only as a practice supervisor but also as an observer and constant learner, has allowed me to recognize how much the hospital setting continues to contribute to professional training, even for those of us who have already traveled this path for years.
