In the practice of Occupational Therapy in the pediatric area, the importance of deepening the study for therapeutic intervention in patients with Down Syndrome in the hospital context is recognized. According to the United Nations (UN) in 2020, it is estimated that the incidence of this syndrome is approximately 1 in 800 births, being considered the most common genetic abnormality in the population. In this sense, Occupational Therapy is considered a multidisciplinary approach that aims to improve the quality of life and promote the integral development of people, comprehensively addressing the needs of the physical, cognitive, sensory and emotional levels. This release note explores the intervention of Occupational Therapy in the face of the needs involved in Down Syndrome.
