State of the art of hydrological models
Abstract
For the authors Estrada and Pacheco (2002):
Hydrological modeling is a tool of great importance for the study of floods that has spread throughout the world, mainly in developed countries. Currently, with the use of these models, the analysis and prevention of floods is carried out; In addition, it is possible to handle sufficiently realistic or foreseeable hypotheses that offer a certain degree of confidence for decision making, be it in the planning of the territory around the rivers or to demand design criteria for works and infrastructures capable of supporting and operating adequately in emergency situations. Even, alert the civil protection services and establish protocols of action before possible situations of danger due to heavy rains. (95).
